Know Your Body Proportion

3 min read

There are three body proportions every woman should know before spending another dollar on clothes.

Because sometimes the problem isn’t the outfit.

Sometimes the problem is where your body decided to place the real estate.

Have you ever bought an outfit because it looked AMAZING on somebody else…

Same size.

Same body shape.

Same outfit.

Then you wore it…

And suddenly it looked like the outfit had anger issues

Different result.

Why?

Because nobody told you that knowing your body shape is only half the equation.

The other half?

Body proportions.

And trust me…

Whether you’re pear-shaped, apple-shaped, rectangle-shaped, hourglass, or inverted triangle…

Body proportions will humble you.

Let’s talk about the three body proportions.

CATEGORY 1

The Leg-Dominant Babe

These women usually have:

• Longer legs

• Shorter torso

• Higher waist

You know them.

Their legs arrive three business days before the rest of their body.

They can wear:

• Low-rise jeans

• Tiny crop tops

• Cropped jackets

And somehow still look balanced.

CATEGORY 2

The Balanced Babe

This is fashion’s favorite child.

The student who never studies but still gets an A.

These women have balanced proportions.

Their torso and legs are working together in perfect harmony.

Which means they can usually wear:

• Mid-rise

• High-rise

• Some low-rise

And get away with most of it.

This is why some people seem like they can wear anything.

It’s not because they’re more stylish.

Their proportions are simply helping with the assignment.

CATEGORY 3

The “Where Did My Legs Go?” Babe

These women usually have:

• Longer torso

• Lower waist

• Shorter-looking legs

This is NOT a bad thing.

It simply means your styling strategy is different.

These are the women who suddenly come alive when they wear:

• High-waisted trousers

• High-waisted skirts

• Cropped jackets

• Vertical styling

Because they’re creating visual balance.

In other words…

They’re moving the eye upward and giving the illusion of longer legs.

HERE’S WHAT NOBODY TOLD YOU

Body shape tells you:

WHAT to buy.

Body proportions tell you:

WHICH VERSION to buy.

A pear shape with long legs and a pear shape with a long torso should not always shop the same way.

An apple shape with a high waist and an apple shape with a low waist should not always shop the same way.

That’s why one outfit looks like luxury on one person…

And confusion on another.

Same dress.

Different architecture.

QUICK TEST

    The Two-Hand Test

Place one hand directly under your bust.

Place the second hand directly underneath the first.

  • Now look where your belly button falls.

If your belly button is covered by your hands (or disappears underneath them)

You likely have:

 Higher waist

 Shorter torso

 Longer-looking legs

If your belly button sits right at the edge of your second hand or there’s only a tiny gap

You likely have:

 Balanced proportions

This is your Balanced Babe category.

If there’s still noticeable space between your second hand and your belly button

You likely have:

 Lower waist

 Longer torso

 Shorter-looking legs

This is your Torso-Dominant Babe category.

Congratulations.

You have just unlocked one of fashion’s most expensive secrets.

Because from now on…

You’re not shopping for your size.

You’re shopping for your proportions.

And that changes everything.

Stop asking:

“Does it fit?”

Start asking:

“Does it flatter?”
